शिशु आगे चलकर राजा परीक्षित के नाम से विख्यात हुआ। इस युद्ध के अंत में कृतवर्मा, कृपाचार्य तथा अश्वत्थामा तीन कौरवपक्षिय और पाँच पाण्डव, सात्यकि तथा श्रीकृष्ण ये सात पाण्डवपक्षिय वीर जीवित बचे।
